Ocean Blue was painted at the top of the skate park in 2019 by artist Andre Braun – BondiWorld – and features a string of Bluebottle Jellyfish floating up the wall.
It covers over the 2017 – A Wish for Peace mural painted by Jenna YoNa Bloom.
We asked Andre about the inspiration behind the work – he said:
The mural started as a series of jellyfish lost in the ocean. As the summer progressed, a sea of jellyfish covered the mural. The artwork seeks to display one of the effect of the warming climate, with those unexpected creatures becoming more and more frequent and numerous in the future, as the water gets warmer and more polluted, bringing to the attention of the visitors these beautiful but unwelcome creatures.
