2017 – Many Faces

This piece was painted in August 2017 by Gnomes – and features a succession of female faces which blend into each other. The street art was created with self mixed pigments, outdoor paint base, and Posca markers.

We asked Gnomes about the background behind her work – she said:

The wall was inspired by my interest in a flora deformity – fasciation.  Although this is a growth deformity, I was interested in how beautiful it looked, and applied it on different subjects. By applying this to a human face, I am expressing how warped and merged faces represents how we overwork and multitask, front multiple faces and emotions at the same time.
