2017 – The Bondi Wave

The Bondi Wave was painted in September 2017 by artist The Dreaming Clouds and features lots of everyday Bondi objects (skateboards, surf boards and ice lollies) getting swept up in a huge wave.

The artist said about her piece:

The Bondi Wave draws inspiration from the spirit of its place. Recognizing that Bondi plays a central role in the development of Australia’s beach culture and sense of national identity, the mural is meant to not only evoke the atmosphere of Bondi, but to contribute to its vibrancy and uniqueness of the place. Dreamy waves of blue water, skilled surfers & skateboarders about, swimmers in the Icebergs; its elements are inspired by the favourite things of both the locals and visitors alike.
