2019 – Plenty More Fish in the Sea

Plenty More Fish in the Sea was painted in January 2019 by artist Hayley Welsh – it features a small, sad, furry grey creature fishing in a hole.

We asked Hayley about her piece and she said:

People often ask me what my characters are and the best way to describe them would be ‘a little voice’. They’re whatever you need them to be in the moment. To me they’re a metaphor for my inner voice – instinctive and passionate, like my childhood dreamer before adulthood took grasp or the wisdom of any grandad. Ageless, sexless. At the moment they are all a little lost, on the way somewhere else. They’ve wandered too far from the path, and they’re finding their way home.
