2018 – Gorilla Panic

Gorilla Panic was painted in February 2018 by Art My Ozone – and features a roaring gorilla with a girl – eyes shut and smiling – nestling into his shoulder. The artist painted over Mulga The Artist‘s 2017 – Bermuda Beard Bobby King of the Beach using exterior acrylic paint.

We asked Art My Ozone the inspiration behind his work – he explained he has a band back home called “Pánico Gorila” (which translates as Gorilla Panic) – and for two years he was inspired by the iconic story of “King Kong” for every work he drew and flyer he designed until he started figuring out his style.

The artist said about his work:

I worked on this flagship concept focusing on the incomprehensible love story between a gorilla and a damsel in distress. Trying to express on the canvas how it’s worth fighting for this bond, for true love itself, as we see our main character protecting his loved one…  This fight is surrounded by ‘hope’, represented by the rising sun emerging from the sea at the horizon, fitting so well Bondi’s landscape at dawn.
