Children was painted in July 2019 by artist Goya Torres – and features two children – one holding an Koala Spirit animal and one with a head-dress shaped like the Sydney Opera House.

We asked Goya about the inspiration behind her work – she told us:
‘In the last three years of my practice as a muralist and street-artist I have been painting a consistent theme of children with strong indigenous features holding spirit animals on their heads and shoulders, usually endemic species from the area where I am painting, symbolising the union of humans and the natural world.
This mural is a tribute to past and present Australian culture with a bridge in between.’
