The Captain was painted in February 2020 by Bound By Sea and features a bearded sailor with a woollen hat and a moustache and bead which flow out and become the ocean waves themselves.
This piece was painted with Posca Pens and Taubmans Black exterior paint.
We asked Bound By Sea about the inspiration behind the work and he told us:
The Captain represents the journey through life, collecting knowledge, scares, wisdom, & understanding of the ocean, it’s beauty, danger & raw energy.
He is looking out to the horizon, watching over all that enter an dwell above and below the waves.
