2015 - Lily Keenan - The Food Chain

2015 – The Food Chain

This piece was completed in February 2015 by Lily Keenan and depicts a skeleton inside a shark inside a whale.

We asked Lily about the inspiration behind the piece and she said:

The Food Chain is a playful comment on the perception of sea life in beach and surf culture. As a surf coach, the fear of sharks is a common conversation I have with people on Bondi Beach, despite the rarity of sightings. This piece is a reminder that while we dominate the food chain, there is always something bigger out there that is capable of eating us.
