Alice in Dream Land was painted by MAN.De in February 2017.
Giving a voice to those who need it the most is a strong theme in my art. In particular, I choose the often unheard voices of children.
I like to give the viewer a glimpse into the imaginary worlds created by children; where the only rules are those they make, where decisions can be playfully explored and where they can be heroes or anything at all. Putting children and their imaginative play in the spotlight reminds us that they are people with different needs to us. Unstructured time is highly valuable to the healthy development of children. My art captures the precious and ever-reduced moments where screens, adult-demands, extra-curricular activities are not a part of our children’s world.
